Painted Prairie Vineyard will proudly be offering 4 new wines in June of 2011.
The Frontenac Grape, which was developed by the University of Minnesota, is well known for its full bodied red wines. A deep garnet color and very intense cherry and plum aromas allow for this dry red wine to quickly become a favorite for those who prefer red wines. This dry red wine is aged with oak and is best served at room temperature. SOLD OUT!
Utilizing the same process as the Prairie Fire Red wine, this red wine was finished off semi sweet to offer the full range of a Frontenac Grape. Fermented with the skins on this allows for the deep garnet color and aromas of cherry and plum to develop. This dry red wine is aged with oak and is best served at room temperature.
A Frontenac Rose enables the grapes to be fermented off skin before the wine develops the dark color of a true Frontenac Wine. However, the flavors of intense cherry and plum are still evident of the Frontenac Grape, which was also developed by the University of Minnesota. While finished off semi-sweet, most find this wine to have a full flavor when served chilled.
Made from the Minnesota LaCrescent grape developed by the University of Minnesota, this wine is often compared to a Vignole or Riesling; this white wine is very aromatic with lots of apricot, lime and honey aromas. Finished off semi-sweet, this is best served chilled. SOLD OUT!
The Painted Prairie Vineyard currently only accepts cash or check. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
